Make in India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the "Make in India" campaign today at a grand event in New Delhi. Top CEOs from India Inc, international industry leaders, Ambassadors, Ministers attended the launch of the campaign, which is aimed at turning India into a global manufacturing hub. Several key initiatives to facilitate foreign investments were launched during the event. Prime Minister also inaugurated an exclusive website www.makeinindia.com, designed for this purpose. 25 key sectors were identified, in which India has the potential of becoming a world leader, and detailed policy brochures were released for inviting foreign investments in these sectors.

The Indian High Commission in Maldives organised a special event to highlight the “Make in India” campaign. Leading Indian and Maldivian businessmen, representatives from the Maldives National Chambers of Commerce attended the event. Indian High Commissioner Rajeev Shahare spoke about the significance of the “Make in India” policy and invited the businessmen to explore the immense possibilities provided by India for investment. Similar arrangements have been made by Indian Embassies and High Commissions around the world to publicise the event globally.
